Coffee and a Script

The Red Tide of Faux Dissident

So apparently we had a couple congressmen go after the WAP music video featuring Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and the pointless cameo of Kylie Jenner. And I can predict Trump will probably tweet about the video as a distraction in the coming days. What feels entirely random is this extreme dismissal of the video from politicians, and even linking it to the concept of bad role models, bad parenting, bad values, etc. They complained about how its bad for the children to see this material, how its anti-feminism, and a bunch of other mumbo jumbo that is never tossed at white artists and even reality shows which also features these supposed anti-family values theming.

But the angry tweets and faux outrage towards Cardi B is part of the strategy to try to win in November’s upcoming, history-altering election: battle the culture. Republican Party knows that they have zero, ZERO credibility remaining as their president that they voted for is on the racist rampage; whether it’s challenging the Defund the Police pleas, verbally spitting on John Lewis’ grave, sending military and secret police to Democrat-run cities to incite violence, and making choice statements that triggers the racist white supremacist and complacent white America base that has become fearful of the intense resistance happening under the global Black Lives Matter movement. This is the Trump Administration’s final card: take on Black America and its growing legion of supporters, simple as that. And it appears some of the other Republican candidates are prepared to make this leap.

Let the Culture Wars begin!

Cancel Culture has its origins in Black Twitter, and in in 2020 has extended to the progressive Black Lives Matter movement, as they call out and battle fake news, fake storylines, fake statistics, and awful (and usually racist) takes that constantly emerges from the Trump Administration and their supporters. What used to be unchallenged takes has grown into actions, as America’s vision of its history is being challenged, as America’s preservation of historical figures is being questioned, and as America’s entire current structure has been under scrutiny. Capitalism is under attack, the concept of policing is under attack, the country’s budget is under its most intense scrutiny in modern history, and to all this I say GOOD---but nonetheless this is scaring a slew of Republican politicians in the White House and those attempting to make their way to Washington.

On top of that, those who are not prepared for the tough questions and progressive ideas emerging from the Black Lives Matter movement have started revolting in disgust. White America has been split into those who are prepared to face the sins of the past and present, and those who are unable or unwilling to face the movement, and its calls to action. This is why this music video is being attacked, its chock-full of pop culture figures that have been openly criticizing the current government, and therefore is attracting the angry maggots prepared to tackle their every move---from music to tweets from ions ago. Since you can’t justify your president’s actions, then the next move is to nitpick the actions of those that are against you. Since you can’t control your immoral president, might as well tackle the supposed immorality of those that are against him.

The “God-less family values” barbs are dog whistles for racist rhetoric on how Black America and Black Culture is against the supposed normal American family structure, and that Black culture itself deserves some blame for its position in American society. It links directly to Trump’s tweets about the suburbs and how he’ll make sure it won’t have nearby low-income housing. We also have Trump’s claims about antifa infiltrating the movement (not true), his claims about how White lives are affected more by police (not true), and how crime has become rampant since the protests began, essentially blaming BLM for growing crime (not true…because we’re in a pandemic and that has caused homelessness and poverty to rise). Of course the biggest lie is how he’s the president that most has helped the Black community besides Abraham Lincoln, which is such severe bullshit the smell can be felt around the world.

These faux outrage tweets and statements are going to escalate as we approach November and for as long as the Black Lives Matter movement continues creating desired results. All the momentum from 2016 has shifted completely, and a fed-up country has the majority pretty much surrender any and all hopes for the Trump Administration to turn things around. In the middle of a botched pandemic, unemployment is way up, the economy has sunk 33% in a quarter, the billionaire class are STILL making money hand-over-fist while the Republicans complain about extending unemployment benefits, and we have the potential of seeing 70% of local restaurants fall apart by the end of this year. Everything looks bleak, and it was an entirely preventable disaster.

So the only way for the White House Republicans to battle against the rising tides of dissident is by attempting to enrage their remaining fans to also rise up----the Conservative Christian White America, by catering to all their fears. Whether it’s the supposed Marxism from BLM, or the sexy music video that might poison the younglings, the Republican base is going to rev up their attacks on Black America, Black Culture, and Black-led changes happening nationwide. Whether or not its working and whether or not its even going to affect the final results come November, its going to be quite ugly and disgusting, much much worse than anything you saw in that music video (which, for starters, was NOT made for young kids to begin with).

Makes sense that the biggest Civil Rights movement since the 1960s is going to be met with the sharpest public criticism of Black America since that same exact era. The strategy is clear, and nothing from Black America is going to be safe, whether it’s a music video, or an entire damn movement.
