Coffee and a Script

The Ill-Fated Timing of Political Karma Towards Biden and the DNC

Of course Joe Biden should drop out. No question.

Biden ran as a one-term president with Kamala Harris eventually taking over, that was the deal that got us to vote for him while holding a heavy drink on the other hand. It should be Kamala Harris/*insert Progressive VP* as the ticket, whether it be AOC, Walz, Whitmer (my personal pick for a ticket right now), or a certain someone who I’ll talk about later.

Hell, even though he betrayed most of us progressives, I’ll even take John Fetterman as VP to bully Trump’s pick at the debates. Either way, a younger candidate on the Democratic side would all but confirm a victory; we’re not going to win any MAGAs, but we’re likely to gain more from the independents who want fresh political blood as opposed to another old white man running for office.

Fun fact, 4 of the 10 oldest candidates voted in as president in U.S. history came from elections after 1980. What a coincidence, just around the time where the U.S. started behaving more like a third-world country with upper class socialism among themselves.

Yes, Biden should drop out. Thanks for the 2020 win, thanks for helping us get over the pandemic while keeping MAGA at bay as much as possible, but you’ve been in politics since before the invention of ciabatta bread (yes, not a joke) and you can no longer fully function as president.

Even though the timing is stupid and ridiculous and gives Trump a smidge of a chance to win (I still personally think he has no chance, as we hate Trump much more than we love any of the candidates in the race), all the political karma from what happened in the 2020 primaries has come back to bite the Biden team as well as the DNC right on the behind.

Remember all those silly conversations about the media concerning Bernie Sanders’ age even though Biden, Bloomberg, and Elizabeth Warren were in the -same race- and weren’t that far behind in terms of oldness? Well, here’s the same exact centrist/center-left media moguls chasing the ratings by trying to push out Boring Old Man Biden in favor of a different political competition to help boost up ratings. Sucks, doesn’t it?

Bernie Sanders (I know you’re likely calling me a hypocrite because he’s another old white man who wanted to be president, but him as a VP under Kamala is an absolute no-brainer) remains a boring TV politician, one that doesn’t speak in exaggeration, one that doesn’t pick fights, and is very repetitive with his message while also refusing to ever speak much about himself---even as the calls for Biden to drop out becomes louder and Bernie had always said he would run if Biden doesn’t. Bernie is nonetheless a spectacular politician when it matters, but he doesn’t draw the eyeballs on television. This on top of the secret panicked phone calls behind-the-scenes at the DNC led to the political collusion we all saw in March 2020.

The Biden team would love for everyone to forget that Biden wasn’t even in first place until all the other presidential hopefuls bent the knee for his campaign---including the backstabbing progressives like Warren (most disappointing decision she’s ever made) and Yang who decided to distance themselves from Bernie. The MSNBC and CNN crowd denounced the early Sanders wins, kept discussing his age, would constantly bring up his Castro comments, and were just hating his obvious lead and popularity. Go research and YouTube the reactions to the Nevada win, it was wild.

The Joe Biden team worked overtime to trash him, even as Bernie up until the very end maintained a strategy of not trashing any other candidate. They likely pushed the “he’s too old” narratives that kept raging in newsmedia and print until he dropped out by April 2020—and it was especially telling that the DNC candidates didn’t fight back on those claims against him. The DNC back in 2020 weren’t picking someone who could beat Trump, they were picking someone who could beat Bernie---and there’s enough anecdotal evidence to prove this is beyond some fringe conspiracy theory. I know Obama made some phone calls.

So as I see the Democratic Party freaking out over the current day media coverage of the debate and Biden’s age, all I can do is sit and laugh because the Bernie Bus fans were experiencing the same avalanche of criticism as Bernie would have become the oldest president in U.S. history---a record that BOTH Biden and Trump would have eventually broken later that year.

Eat crow DNC, you built the stupid narrative that hinges on selective ageism against the most popular progressive politician in the United States, and now Joe Biden has become the newest target of an elderly boring politician that won’t bring in the ratings, and therefore must be irrelevant for the sake of newsmedia profits. The strategy nonetheless is pathetic and it borders on us having to make major changes concerning media and information in the future, but for now its essentially a strategy used in 2020 turning around and affecting the primaries in 2024.

The Democratic Party deserves extreme criticism and would even deserve to lose if not for the fact that the Republican Party has decided to go all full White Christian Nationalist and would become an existential threat that would harm the very fabric of what it means to be an American, to be a citizen of the United States. Luckily for them, the Red Team has delivered the worst president since Confederate-sympathizer Andrew Johnson and want him back in the White House. This is no exaggeration whatsoever; even interracial marriage is on the ballot with Project 2025 developing a very concerning gameplan.

Drop out Joe, you and your DNC cronies started this back in 2020, and its time for you to do your part in preserving what’s left of the shattered American Dream by letting go of the Trump rivalry and offering Kamala Harris her well-earned opportunity to lead the country.

Kamala Harris/Gretchen Whitmer Ticket, now.
