Israel and The U.S.-Backed Tenth Crusade
I am going to defend Joe Biden for a couple paragraphs before viciously disagreeing with him.
Joe Biden was alive in the U.S. during World War II and the Holocaust.
As a child, Americans were seeing the horror-filled details from the recently-finished World War II emerge and get progressively more gruesome as accounts, pictures, films, and eyewitness accounts are released and U.S.’ number of fallen soldiers rises exponentially. Joe Biden was alive when entire cultures (like the Jewish community) moved to the U.S. as their homelands have been reduced to nothing. Biden was alive when the surviving nations around the world stripped Japan and Germany to the barebones as they sought ways to make sure this type of genocidal carnage doesn’t happen again---starting with a brand new nation for the Jewish faith.
When Joe Biden was a teenager, the idea of Israel was formed under the consensus that this is necessary to make sure we don’t lose millions of lives and see entire nations end up as mere dust. To be blunt, World War II happened because an entire nation took centuries of fears and anger towards a faith and justified their desires to create a new society that saw themselves at the center, while not having to rely on other nations for their ongoing existence----and if it requires the eradication of an entire population then so be it (Japan’s story in World War II is eerily similar, in their case concerning the Koreans). Up until 2016, it used to be argued that there’s no way an entire nation, witnessing the awful rhetoric of an emerging political force, would ever simply allow this type of hatred to gain power and win. But then the U.S. voted for Donald Trump and history is a circle.
Joe Biden was a rookie in politics when members of the Israeli Olympic team was kidnapped and murdered by Palestinian terrorists. Biden has seen antisemitism at its absolute worst and has stubbornly stuck to his principles tied to his religious-adjacent beliefs concerning Israel’s right to exist and the Israeli right to live peacefully and without prejudice, which has been their ongoing battle since the death of Jesus Christ.
Whenever religion is involved, the facts, emotions, and sentiments become extremely complex, and contributes mightily as to why this conflict is a little different from your average battle between two supposedly-opposing nations. The Jewish faith, the Jewish culture has been under attack for centuries, and folks like Biden whose religious knowledge is quite deep understands this and has felt compelled to ensure their ongoing existence as an internationally-recognized nation.
However.
You cannot ever reward the murderous bully, regardless of their extensive background history.
War crimes should never be responded with war crimes.
Surviving a Holocaust is no reason for anyone to blindly support a second one within the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Being blamed for Jesus Christ’s death and the downward spiral of the planet should never be justification for brutally dominating a population of people that are mostly children just because there are terrorists hidden within their harsh merciless borders that YOU imposed on them in the first place. The only country that should be (and mostly has been in the public eye) spared for its maintained support of Israel is Germany---for obvious, OBVIOUS reasons.
The United States however has zero reason to continue painting this facade of justice and try to persuade the public that Israel isn’t politically being dominated by a far-right wing that obviously wants to eradicate an entire culture as some sort of righteous religious revenge and subtle jealousy of the Islamic faith’s growing presence within the Middle East. Extreme terrorism like Hamas doesn’t just pop out of nowhere, it takes intense oppression to establish such hatred that people enjoying a music festival aren’t spared from the immense violence.
Enough is enough, it is time to stop playing the dumb game about Israel’s supposed intentions and call it as to what it has become: responding to a terrorist attack in the worst fucking way possible and tripling down on war crimes they’ve been committing for generations now, the kinds of crimes that emboldens Hamas in the first place.
The very week before Hamas viciously broke into Israeli soil, Jewish settlers were (once again) harassing peaceful Palestinians in the important Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem while also being filmed spitting on Christians performing a public pilgrimage---this while the West Bank was experiencing its most violent year from said far-right Israeli thugs feeling powerful thanks to the current government setup. As a reminder, Israel’s military was wildly unprepared for the surprise terrorist attack on October 7th because they were busy at the West Bank stripping innocent Palestinians of their homes.
On the other side, children are being murdered by the hundreds in a land that will create thousands of more terrorists to join an Israel-funded military junta that’s arguably 20,000 strong (thanks to decades of Israel-led oppression). How stupid is it to believe Israel isn’t trying to push an entire nation out of land it clearly wants---notice that innocent Palestinians within the Gaza Strip trying to escape conflict are still banned from entering Israeli soil, remain blocked from even going to the West Bank where they can join the other clutter of Palestinians.
The strategy is clear as day, and we have to stop supporting and funding this.
Every single major human rights organization is blasting the alarm about the dire consequences if we continue going down this path. Joe Biden has the power, resources, and abilities to properly call this out and seek better solutions to the ongoing violence and the potential cleansing of entire regions of innocent lives as they might get bounced around the Middle East, creating more instability, more poverty, more homelessness, and potentially more anger leading to groups like Hamas going on deadly suicide missions.
Demand the ceasefire, and stop funding war crimes, RIGHT NOW.
