Coffee and a Script

The Last Gasp For White Supremacy Power

Prologue: So I had written this article just 24 hours before the attack on the U.S. Capitol and the attempted coup. I repeat, this was an attempted coup, and I don’t want anyone to try to downplay the attempts that had been made by Donald Trump and the MAGAts. There were threats, weapons, bombs, death, destruction, blood on the floor, feces on the walls, anarchy to the ultimate degree, and a president who was hiding in the shadows trying to prolong Biden’s confirmation by any means necessary.

So I had the hard decision of potentially re-writing everything to include the events and reform my thoughts, but I think its more effective for me to publish the words I had before the attempted coup with zero edits, and then add more to it as a secondary chapter after formulating my thoughts concerning one of the darkest eras in the entire history of the United States. The message is clear and hasn’t wavered; its just that now I have more evidence to support my claims, as its clear that White America still has Civil War era demons to exorcise. So this article is split into two chapters: Desperation at the Polls, and The Point of No Return.

Chapter One: Before the Coup, Desperation at the Polls

========================

The Republicans are now going to stretch out the process of Joe Biden becoming president after months of failed lawsuits, months of unsubstantiated claims, months of allowing Donald Trump to speak and behave in a dictatorial tone, months of muddying the electoral process, and outright trying to deny the votes of millions of people just because for one night they had hope and saw it crash once the mail-in ballots rolled in and overwhelmingly voted to remove Trump. Now an extremely dangerous precedent is being set, with the notion that if the Republicans owned the house and senate, they could have actually been successful in overthrowing the results of an entire election if it wasn’t in their favor.

A vote for Joe Biden didn’t necessarily mean we wanted Joe Biden, but we did not want to spend another second in an America that was being ruled by a failed businessman with a fractured ego, a dictatorship persona, and a fanbase that loves oppression and violence just about as much as they enjoy pissing off Democrats for no reason other than trolling.

This is the current Republican Party: given the endless number of opportunities to split away from Trump and his behavior, they instead have fallen in line with the asshole for years and will continue doing so all the way to the bitter end. They were willing to swallow their pride, swallow their morals, swallow their faith in order to try to keep some of those rabid voters that had been following Trump for all the wrong reasons. Whether its Ted Cruz who would probably let Trump fuck his wife if it meant a few percentage points of improvement, or Mike Pompeo who has already begun his presidential campaign with a series of tweets with the hashtag of swagger (*vomits*), all morals have been abandoned in the White House just to hang on to those last few shreds of power.

And that’s because we are getting closer to potentially ensuring the permanent erasure of the Republican Party’s power, and they know this.

The progressive moment headed by everyone’s favorite Vermontan senator and the strongest core of young further-leftists this entire damn generation is presenting some deep ideas that has gained immense traction, even if its being resisted by Republicans (of course) and even people within their own party. On the Bernie, Warren, Yang, and the Squad side, we have Green New Deal, Medicare For All, increase of minimum wage, abolishing student debt, increase in affordable housing, giving more rights to prisoners, severe tax increases to the richest class, among other policies that used to scare all Americans while also being realities in more politically advanced European nations. But the big one that scares Republicans most of all is: abolishing the Electoral College, the biggest source of power for the shrinking but still mighty minority of the Republicans.

The Republican Party has lost the popular vote in EVERY ELECTION EXCEPT ONE since Bill Clinton won the presidency in 1992. Yet despite this, has had two presidents in between Clinton and upcoming Joe Biden---and both were known for being obvious disasters that nonetheless maintained their popularity from the base because of superficial reasons instead of policy beliefs. It was the electoral college that helps them win through the appeal of smaller states and through the pointlessness of voting which deters progressives and democrats in smaller places from voting and seeking the necessary change to improve their conditions. The history of the electoral college was based on slavery and slave states wanting to somehow maintain their seat at the table while the rest of the country attempted to rise past its sinister, racist, and inhuman policies of owning Black people and forcing them to do labor. But this country has grown beyond the need of such an outdated method of picking the next leader.

The United States has become the ONLY major country to utilize a minority-represent-majority system of electing the highest office, and in this century, we have seen it affect Americans negatively twice and as a result the country has fallen into multiple wars, multiple recessions, a horrible response to a pandemic, and the widest inequality gap among all major nations. Democratic socialists and younger politicians are currently living through the wildest twenty years the country has faced since the Civil War and Reconstruction Era, and you can easily trace the consequences around how the electoral college voted----which went against the popular vote twice in this century. Worst of all, the electoral college was inches from going against the will of the people a third time if not for the influx of minority voters in predominantly white portions of the country. This can’t happen again.

2020 Election was a grand awakening of this fear that White America’s firm grip on the United States was slipping significantly, especially after seeing the country reach a Civil War-esque breaking point with the Donald Trump administration. White America is fully aware that if the Democrats own all three branches for at least two years, changes are going to be made. Battles against gerrymandering, the electoral college, the electoral process, and the obstacles preventing people from voting are going to emerge from the rising progressive branches of the Democratic Party. Progressives like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez have pretty much openly revealed that the country had to completely break apart before the solutions she’s suggesting would gain immense support. Starting with the Iraq War and continuing through the pandemic, its obvious that enough is enough, and those benefiting the most from this political chaos are scared that they cannot take advantage anymore.

So guess what, one of the worst presidents in the history of the United States managed to GAIN votes, and by an excessive amount. White women, despite his history of mistreatment of women and his attack on women’s rights, turned out for him nonetheless at a nasty 55%. Of course white men voted 61% in favor of him, while EVERY OTHER MINORITY GROUP voted Biden. This speaks layers, when only white people wanted Trump to remain in power. This speaks layers when 52% of all voters were over the age of 50, and most of Trump’s votes were coming from said age range. These are people that don’t want the necessary changes because it benefits them. Then even after the results, we still had Republicans going to court over SIXTY times to overturn the results, we had Republicans trying to crash the certifying of said votes, and now on the 6th we are about to have a severely-delayed process and potential violence on the Washington D.C. streets because Republicans and MAGAts cannot handle that they lost despite showing up in even better numbers than back in 2016.

These Trump voters don’t want the country to grow beyond the need of an electoral college, as they know the nation is diversifying rapidly and they are prepared to leave behind the bad policies and beliefs of the past, because at this point it’s become economically shaped like a disjointed hourglass and without any of the money trickling down. White Americans swallowed their pride and falsified faith and united with White Supremacists, extremists, and those who are willing to flirt with having an authoritarian running the show as long as they are on the advantageous end of the deal. Donald Trump’s administration went from being a rumored extremist, racist administration to an outright attempt of becoming a legitimate dictatorship. Even weaklings like Marco Rubio, whose family escaped a dictatorship back in the 1950s, has accepted the behavior of the president. Disgusting and pathetic.

2020 Election was the last gasp of political White Supremacy, they got their biggest fix with the Trump Years, and they aren’t ready to accept the consequences quite yet. Historically this country has refused to grow up from the racist origins: whether its fighting an entire fucking civil war to preserve the right to have slaves, the Gold Rush and Manifest Destiny mindset leading to the Trail(s) of Tears and shattering of Native American and Native Mexican communities, the dismantling of Reconstruction leading to the Jim Crow Era, the Civil Rights Movement giving us Nixon and Reagan, and the most modern example being Barack Obama giving us a Donald Trump as a rebuttal.

White America collectively knew the dangers of flying so close to the sun with their racist policies becoming realities, their finding of a candidate that speaks and thinks exactly like them: Me First, Me Second, White America Forever, Fuck the Minorities and Democrats. So even whenever their cult figure messes up, the staunch supporters refuse to see it——and whenever they see it, they refuse to condemn it. Republicans have seen their president wrapped up in a sex scandal, an assassination of a foreign leader, nearly starting a war with a few countries, growing sympathetic for another dictator, trying to convince a foreign leader to dig up damning details on a rival politician, bully multiple Latin American countries, practically end helping migrants, and also fuck up a pandemic response epicly….yet did nothing.

This is the price to pay for choosing someone with such intense support for a Whiter America, potentially losing it all after a few years. And after their leader turns on them, the Republican Party is going to have to fight itself for the next few years before any attempts to rebuild power—-while the Democrats threaten to eliminate all the political shortcuts that led to the shattered America we see today.

Change is coming, and only time will tell how extensive they become (I’m going to spend the next four years screaming for the murder of the Electoral College, for example), but the 2020 Election was definite proof that the Republican Party does not want to see progress actually happen.

Chapter Two: Written After the Coup: The Point of No Return

========================

Oh boy.

On the day that Joe Biden was officially certified to become the next president of the United States, the current president of the United States incited a mob to try to take over the capitol via a morning speech full of violent rhetoric, revving up an army of angry MAGAts, white supremacists, neo-Nazis, post-modern Confederates, far-right extremists, Qanonites, Uncle Toms, Yolandas, KKK members, anarchists, and other delinquents to basically “fight to take their country back.” This was clearly an attempted coup, as the chaos swirled for hours with minimal police and even military backup, no message from the president to calm things down, a tense-filled aura of uncertainty as politicians were forced into hiding, and threats of executions and extended violence popping up outside the Capitol with nooses and crosses being held up for everyone to see.

News organizations were being attacked, the police were being kidnapped and trapped, important rooms and chapters within the Capitol were being raided and invaded, items were being stolen, some police were seemingly enjoying the mayhem, feces was literally being smeared on some of the walls, and at the end of the day the Capitol had been invaded by the enemy for the first time since the War of 1812. As this publishes, we still are receiving information that adds more emphasis on just how violent and how unruly the event unfolded. Mike Pence’s life was actually in danger as his family was in the same area, politicians were being sought after. Nancy Pelosi’s office being raided in particular was startling, because there was a good chance she was also a target. Don’t get it twisted, just because the plan was ill-advised and ridiculous, doesn’t make it any less traitorous or dangerous.

The symbolism of American strength was obliterated under the chaos of a cult that had done what the Confederates, Nazis, Russians, and any other known American enemy couldn’t do: raid and defile the Capitol, and become a few steps away from successfully performing a coup. People died, countless others injured, and the image of the United States to the rest of the world is quite possibly the lowest it’s been since Vietnam. This clearly-planned attack to try to maintain Donald Trump as president past the 20th is treason, is a dictator-wannabe trying to ruin every aspect of American politics since he didn’t get the victory he wanted.

Trump doesn’t care about the Republican Party, he doesn’t care about anyone except himself. So surely, the Republican Party recognizes this and finally begins separating themselves from this, right? Surely, they finally drop the charades of voter fraud and move on to the next chapter, right? Unfortunately, part of trying to cling on to that white supremacist power, trying to cling on to that last bit of White America power requires for you to still be on his side.

Sadly, select Republicans have chosen to continue the narrative. In the middle of the night, there were still a couple states being contested because of baseless fraud accusations, with some of the Trump Republicans once again spewing false accounts about the event that had JUST TAKEN PLACE. What should have been a smooth process even after their lives were threatened, took until 4 a.m. to conform the inevitable.

The Republican Party has refused to learn its lesson, has refused once again to denounce what the political party has become. The Republican Party has undoubtedly become the party that represents the worst of American values, and worst of all there are politicians that profit off of this rage and fear and will continue amplifying these disgusting narratives and beliefs for as long as their careers within the party remains intact. This one party has become responsible for all the backwards-thinking the country still possesses, thoughts that looks at Black Americans, Native Americans, Asian-Americans, and especially Latin Americans in a very negative light.

So before, the last gasp for White Supremacist power was happening at the polls with this election being far closer than it should have been. White America tried to vote themselves into continued power by electing a man with a clear America First White Supremacist agenda with a white supremacist administration. There were people clearly voting against their needs and interests for the sake of going against minorities and the shadows of the semi-progressive Obama administration (Obamacare, legalization of gay marriage, intense change in perception towards weed).

Now, with the attack on the U.S. Capitol, with the attempted coup, and the ho-hum response from Republican politicians even as their -might- be more its clear that the continuing defense of the U.S. Capitol might cost the party everything for the next decade as long as the Democratic Party takes advantage of its current position. But the Republicans cannot separate themselves from this voting base, they see these awful people as potential voters, people they can potentially will to voting for them as they pursue their personal ambitions. Republicans see Donald Trump as the Red State version of Barack Obama: someone that can easily motivate mass groups of people to the polls. Even with the violence, the death, the ties to the worst men in the history of America, the Republican Party sees these people as crucial to their success.

So with that, they’ve hung on to this power as of this writing. So while the Democrats are more than willing to denounce this mob and toss them to the curb (and to prison whenever possible), the Republican politicians are picking up this trash and seeing value. They see these White Supremacists and those complacent to their connections to white supremacists as valuable commodity. What they are doing would be the equivalent of Angela Merkel reaching out to Nazi sympathizers in Germany, or Bolsonaro over at Brazil gaining support from pro-military dictatorship vo----wait, that’s, that’s what happened…

2020 Election and the extremely violent and inconsistent aftermath is the ultimate proof that a big portion of this country is not prepared or willing to grow up with the times, not willing to reach out to help the historically disenfranchised populations of the people, not willing to realize and admit the atrocities committed in the past that has led to their current position as having a much easier road to success as the minorities that also support the country. The 2020 Election is also evidence that a political party that decided to back a white supremacist were willing to do it again, and were willing to pick up the pieces after his hard-fought loss, even after the death and destruction and severe dip in global standing under said Trumpian years.

As I had written -before- the attempted coup and attempted lynchings at the Capitol, I predicted the Republicans -might- be in trouble. But after still sticking to their toxic fanbase and still sticking with Trump even after the worst attack in the White House since 9/11, this might honestly be the beginning of the end for them. All this, for the votes of White Supremacy. They had many chances to distance themselves from a future or irrelevancy, and they failed, and as the demands for resignations, expulsions, impeachments, and other consequences are on the rise, the inaction might cost an entire party everything.

 …especially if the Electoral College finally falls.
